Washington DC, take two!

We are re-posting our Washington DC adventures! Sorry this is out of order but our blog malfunctioned the same way our federal government malfunctioned! This is how we were greeted in Washington DC!

These are our good friends Jack and Debbie Taylor. Debbie is a kindergarten friend of Micky's and was Kathie's college roommate. The rest is history!

Here is a picture of the girls at our wedding.

And another at Jack and Debbie's wedding.
Amazing that we have not aged at all!
Not sure where Jack was in this picture, but we think he may have been at the bar!

With the federal government shutdown and the museums closed, Debbie was a wonderful tour guide as she took us to many DC highlights: the National Mall including the Capitol building and the Washington Monument,

the United States Air Force memorial, Arlington Cemetery, the Pentagon Memorial, and the Iwo Jima Memorial!

The Jefferson Memorial and the NRA National Museum!

You will notice that the California Highway Patrol patch is proudly displayed on the top row of the law enforcement section of the museum!

Jack graciously allowed us to use his Lexus 430 convertible to drive through the beautiful Virginia countryside!

He then met us at the Bull Run Range for an afternoon of trap and skeet shooting.

Then it was back home for a quick clean up and off to meet our good friends Keith and Monica Lewis.
We met Keith and Monica on our Alaskan cruise 4 years ago, the same cruise we met Bill and Emily Johns. What a blessing it was to meet up with both of these couples on this trip.
Here is a picture of the six of us on our Alaskan cruise four years ago.

And here we are today.

Once again, amazing that we have not aged a bit. Especially Micky and Keith!

Our friend Debbie flew home to California to spend time with her 92 year old mother in failing health.
Please keep her entire family in your prayers.

Jack accompanied us to the Maryland Renaissance Festival! You would be amazed at the permanent fairgrounds that have been erected for this month's long event!
What a blessing it was to spend so much time with Debbie and Jack. They have been a part of our lives, literally, from the beginning.
The first time Micky laid eyes on his beautiful wife Kathie was on his 21st birthday when he was visiting Debbie in her dorm room. Debbie's roomate Kathie walked in and stole his heart!

This is a picture of that couple in that dorm room just a couple of months later!

THANK YOU JACK AND DEBBIE!
