Charlotte NC & Savannah GA

Well, our plans to get out early and outrun the storm didn't quite work out the way we planned!
We did get up early and we packed our motorcycle and as soon as we were ready to mount our trusty steed, the skies opened up!
We are talking Noah and the Ark type of rain!
So, we thought it best to unpack our motorcycle and re enter our hotel room and pray that the rain would subside.
Micky got soaked just unpacking the bike.
We asked for a late checkout and God answered our prayers. We got the late checkout, the rain subsided, we suited up and took off for Charlotte North Carolina!
It was almost as if God was dividing the clouds as we passed through the storm,
AKA Moses and the Red Sea, paving our way straight through to Charlotte. We never really even got wet!
We checked into the Drury Suites in Charlotte North Carolina. We rode through Charlottesville yesterday and stayed in Charlotte tonight in honor of our first granddaughter Charlotte Erin!

You have got to admit that she is precious!
On the recommendation of our friends, Paul and Karie Stewart, we stayed at the Drury suites in Charlotte.
Our room was great and it came with dinner, cocktails, breakfast and a beautiful sunset!
They even let us park our Harley under the canopy at the entrance to the hotel.

We saddled up and faced the possibility of rain all the way to Savannah Georgia! The forecast was for 60 percent rain!

Once again God had his hand of protection upon us! We made it all the way to Savannah with minor instances of rain!

Savannah is a beautiful old city with much history. We took the river walk and visited many of the beautiful tree filled squares!

Kathie was so taken with the trees that she just could not help herself!

We enjoyed the most awesome appetizers at the "Wild Wing Cafe",  spicy sausage cheese fritters and loaded potato chips!

We sat and listened to a "Cat Stevens" style singer and indulged in a Rocky Patel Edge Cigar!

We then boarded a pedicab for a tour of old Savannah before turning in for the night.

All in all a great couple of days!
